Fulfillment of Messianic Prophecy by Jesus #55

Deu 34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, Deu 34:11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,

We looked earlier at this promise as a pointer to the coming Messiah and how Jesus was clearly the One Who fulfilled this prophecy. Today I would like to look at the similarities of Jesus and Moses and how Moses was a type of Christ as a deliverer. The actual life of Moses was prophetic.

For 35 years I have been reading the Bible. I love to read the Bible and for many years I have enjoyed the many true stories in both the New and Old Testament Books of the Bible. After awhile I realized that both the New and Old Testament stores were actually many stories telling the very same Greater or Greatest Story of all. “The Volume of the Book is written about Me”.

Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Jesus

Act 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

Act 7:36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
Act 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
Act 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

Similarities of Moses and Jesus

The Pharaoh and King Herod ordered the murder of babies under 2 when Moses and Jesus were babies.

Moses came out of Egypt. Jesus was born in Bethlehem but later stayed hidden in Egypt to avoid the persecution of Herod.

There are similarities of Jesus and Moses as Jesus was laid in a manger and Moses in a thatch basket.

Moses was raised as the son of the Pharaoh who was the most powerful ruler of his time. Jesus the Son of the Most Powerful in all of creation. Jesus the Son of God.

Both Moses and Jesus were Hebrew Levites.Moses was a Hebrew Levite.

Moses delivered Israel from bondage to Egypt. Jesus delivered mankind from bondage to sin.

Moses brought the Law, but Jesus fulfilled the Law.

The Israelites were in bondage for 400 years in Egypt. There were 400 years of heavenly silence before the birth of Christ.

Moses and Jesus both had a wilderness experience before being launched into their purpose and ministry.

Moses and Jesus both royalty who humbled themselves for the good of the people.

God did miracles through Moses like no other. God did miracles through Jesus like no other

Moses chose 12 spies. Jesus chose 12 Apostles

The Old Covenant was given through Moses. The New Covenant through Jesus.

Moses change water to blood. Jesus turned water to wine.

Moses married a non Jewish woman. One day the marriage of Jesus to the Church

I am leaving out some of the similarities of Jesus and Moses. Perhaps you as the reader can add to this list in the comment section.
